Do you live in one of those communities where no one mows their lawn until you do? What about painting their homes...have you
seen anyone have theirs painted recently after having just had yours done? And let's not forget about this time of year that we're in. Christmas! Does everyone wait until you've put up your tree and hung your lights before they put them up? If you've noticed this type of pattern going on in your neighborhood, you're a neighborhood leader.
Do you plan the block parties, or organize the welcome-to-the-neighborhood dinners? There are within each neighborhood a certain neighbor that emerges as the 'leader' or the model person to emulate. It's an honor to be the one who everyone fashions themselves after. And, in every community, there is at least one.
During this Christmas season, use your opportunity as a neighborhood leader to show others how to show kindness and be gracious to one another. Being a leader carries a lot of power. Even in our local neighborhoods.
