Martin Luther King has provided us with several quotes that offer inspiration to leaders and followers alike.
Favorite King quotes:
“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

I have heard and read many eloquent tributes to Martin Luther King, Jr. over the years. None as heart- felt as the song "Pride" by the rock-group U2. It exemplifies the struggle of the 1960's civil rights movement, that so many fought for on different battlefields from Viet Nam to an Alabama bus. Because of my lack of poetic justice to Martin Luther King, Jr. I offer these words to him , "free at last they took your life but they could not take pride." Your dream is still our dream.
P.S. Happy B-Day!
